uFoscam: 2-way Audio & AV Record App Reviews

I just can’t seem to get any benefit from this app. It just doesn’t stay up long enough to view my cameras.

Installed Yosemite today (17 Oct 2014). This app no longer works, crashes on every attempt to open. Worked ok before under Mavericks, which is why I gave it 4 Stars but you may want to wait for an update if you have Yosemite.

App will no longer open since upgrading to Yosemite 10.10. I tried reinstalling it, but it crashes immediately upon opening. I hope an update is in the works.

This was a great app but no longer works after upgrading to Yosemite. The App crashes on launch. I have contacted the developer but they have not responded. Please fix this issue ASAP as customers who paid for this application expect that it will function.

Can we please get an update compatiable with Yosemite! I can not record anything. I wouldn’t care but seeing as I paid for this app. I would like to continue using it.

Unusable - force closes with OS X 10.10 Yosemite. I have used this app for a long time and loved it. Please fix!

If you look at their support page it says to contact the email address in the App store. I can’t find it anywhere as of this posting. Currently does not support (or at least I can make it support) the Foscam F19805E. Wasted my money. Ugh.

It looks like a nice app, but I can barely keep it running long enough to make sure. I hope they send out an update to fix it soon!

uFoscam drops connection almost everyday. Does not work as a surveillance software if it quits so often. Also shows no network error message, when all other softwares works fine.

It works most of the time. I tried adding a fourth camera and for some reason it just ‘doesn’t work’. Every other camera app i use on my desktop or on my mobile can see all the cameras, but for some reason ufoscam says it’s having problems, and it often just ‘disconnects’ from cameras and I have to manually reconnect it. It’s nice if I only need to see the cameras for a minute or two, but it’s not polished enough to keep open for long periods of time to watch surveilliance cameras.

Needs Update, NO responce when open.

EDIT: Noise above my threshold is not triggering a recording… this entire application has gone from “Amazing” to “a waste of 7 dollars” in no time… It’s too bad, it has some great ideas integrated into it… but those ideas are not worth a penny if they aren’t functional. To begin, I am not running Yosemite (nor do I plan on upgrading anytime soon… people should stop doing this until at least a year has passed) so this program runs perfectly on Mavericks so far. I’ve used a lot of different IP cam applications on Windows and Mac, and I must say really enjoy this one. I needed to keep an eye on my new puppy, and the application I used for years wasn’t cutting it (evocam). I needed both audio detection, and audio recording to ensure that my new puppy wasn’t making tons of noise and bothering the neighbors. So far my puppy is being very quiet, and I can monitor him with the REALLY helpful graphs! This seems like the perfect solution for puppies and babies alike (although I hope nobody is leaving their babies home alone… more thinking they can monitor it visually while they blast music a few rooms away if they so please.) Anyway, very cool solution, and well worth the 7 bucks! Oh, and I am using a cheap under $50 Wanscam IP camera. It hooked in immediately without any trouble by just setting it up as a generic camera. All the features work so far as I can tell. This Wanscam camera is basically the OEM version of the Foscam FI8918W, but it’s 25-30 dollars cheaper.

I have a brand new Mac book, and two Foscams that work perfectly and I can view remotely on my iPhone and iPad. This app has no place to enter local versus remote settings. Sent an email to support two days ago. No response. Tried to enter settings that SHOULD work. Nothing. Totally useless. Foscam Pro on my iPhone is awesome and I think it was either free or $1, but it’s not compatible with my Mac Book. Really ticked off I paid $7 for a totally useless app, my first app purchase for this new computer too.

I had previously given 5 stars but ever since Yosemite the app crashes… seems no one at this app site cares.. do not buy it.. it will not work with Mac. I have uninstalled and now reinstalled. It does not work.. Was the best app around for foscam. Not any more.

This doesn’t work with the FOSCAM cameras and I returned the cameras also.

The ssytem was very easy to install once I understood the process. just make sure you are using the correct IP address noted for your cameria’s. Great system for the price.

I only wish all modes worked without crashing, I’m just hoping it will get fixed in the next update. But this program is everything I was looking fo in a wifi camera app.

The app works just as it should. I now have six Foscam cameras or varying models and the app works fine. Behaves as it should, no crashes. User Interfce is good. I did have a question, and emailed support. They responded within a few hours. So 5 stars for an app that does what it says, and support that responds. I have an alias on my desktop to the stored video files folder, so I can easily review and delete as desired. It creates a foscam folder in your default videos folder. It would be nice if they let you select a location, but the alias approach works. But the app does not support the Foscam HD cams, unless you turn the cams down to SD. So down from 5 stars to 4.

Extremely dissatisfied! At first it looked like a good product, enabled me control to one of my cameras. Then one day just stopped working, no image, no posibility to edit camera settings, nothing. Gonna demand a refund. Horrible software!
